Sports Broadcasting – Live Production & Storytelling

Sports Broadcasting introduces students to the exciting world of live sports coverage and production. Students learn the fundamentals of live sports broadcasting while gaining hands-on experience with professional-grade equipmentincluding high-end cameras, microphones, soundboards, and live editing switchers. Through this training, students develop the technical skills necessary to capture and communicate the energy of athletic competition in real time.

In addition to live game coverage, students create pre-packaged content such as athlete and coach spotlights, game highlight reels, and short-form sports documentaries. This balance of live and pre-produced work helps students build a well-rounded understanding of sports media and storytelling.

By the end of the course, students will have practical experience in sports broadcasting and a portfolio of live productions and pre-produced content that demonstrates technical proficiency, creativity, and professional readiness. Throughout, students are encouraged to use their skills not only to capture the excitement of sports but also to communicate values of teamwork, perseverance, and integrity in a way that honors God.
